    Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, are searching for a suspect wanted on larceny and assault charges.

    According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday night at the Subway restaurant located at 254 Merrimack Street in Lowe..

    Around 8:47 p.m. surveillance video shows a male suspect stealing money from a tip jar located next to the register and then leaving the store.

    A customer notified the store clerk who went to look for the suspect.

    The clerk located a small bag on the floor which police believe contained heroin.

    Later on, the suspect returned to the store and demanded the bag from the clerk who told the suspect to return the money.

    The suspect then grabbed the clerk by the arm but she was able to pull away and contact police.

    Police say the suspect is a white male with dark hair that is long on the top and shaved on the sides, was wearing khaki pants, a white t-shirt, and a blue backpack with rope style straps.

    He is wanted on numerous charges including larceny from a building and assault and battery.
