Service on the MBTA Commuter Rail is expected to return to normal Monday after a staffing shortage led to several canceled trains Sunday.

According to the Boston Globe, some 600 passengers were affected and were transported by buses.

The cancellations largely affected the south side of the system.

Keolis said the shortage was caused by crews receiving time-off due to family matters, sickness, and a fatal incident in Franklin on Saturday.

A spokesperson told necn they expect to be fully-staffed Monday.

However, many riders took to Twitter to express their issues with the transit system on Monday morning.
