A Harvard University swim coach who trained world-record holders has received a lifetime ban from coaching after allegedly violating sexual misconduct policies.
According to the Boston Herald, USA Swimming banned Joe Bernal in February, but did not provide details of the alleged violations.
The ban is in accordance with policies meant to protect athletes.
The Herald's efforts to reach Bernal were unsuccessful.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office would not comment on if BErnal is under investigation.
