Do women earn as much as men? It may depend on where you live.
Sharlene Hesse-Biber is the director of the Women's and Gender Studies program at Boston College and she joined us to talk about a new study from the Institute for Women’s Policy research 2014.
She said that the report shows that by-and-large women are not making the same money across the country with in some cases, the same job.
She said the cost of living does vary across the country, which does impact salaries.
Hesse-Biber said the wage gap still exists very much and women only earn $.77 to every dollar a man earns.
