Veteran Says Fireworks Courtesy Sign Stolen From Yard

A Rhode Island Navy veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder says she only wants a heads up from neighbors shooting off fireworks, but someone has stolen her yard signs requesting the courtesy.

Maegan Antunes told WJAR-TV she placed a "Please Be Courteous with Fireworks" sign in front of her Bristol home.

Antunes says she's not asking people to stop using fireworks, just to give her some warning before they do so because unexpected fireworks can trigger anxiety.

She says when one sign went missing she put another out, only to see it disappear as well. She says the military license plate was also taken off the front of her car.

Police are investigating.
