Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Apprehended in New Jersey

Jose Morales is a suspect in the July 20 death of 37-year-old Lee Daniels

The suspect in a fatal stabbing in Massachusetts nearly three months ago has been apprehended in New Jersey.

A spokesman for the Worcester district attorney tells The Telegram & Gazette that 20-year-old Jose Morales was arrested Thursday in Newark.

Morales is a suspect in the July 20 death of 37-year-old Lee Daniels, of Thompson, Connecticut. A warrant on a murder charge was issued for Morales on Aug. 3.

Daniels was found in his car in the parking lot of the Worcester YMCA suffering from a stab wound to the heart.

Witnesses told police the two men had been in a confrontation before the stabbing. Police say they recovered a knife that has the suspect's fingerprints on it.

It could not immediately be determined if Morales has a lawyer.
