Police Investigate Teen's Shooting in Boston

    Police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot. (Published Friday, Nov. 11, 2016)

    Police are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Milton, close to Boston's Mattapan neighborhood.

    The teen was shot on the bike path behind the Ryan Playground on River Street shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police. While the department initially told necn the shooting happened in neighboring Milton, they have since confirmed it actually took place in Mattapan.

    The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

    Boston Police, Milton Police and Massachusetts State Police all responded to the scene. State police are interviewing potential witnesses.

    No arrests have been made.

    The district attorney's office is heading up the investigation.
