An upper level low pressure system has stalled over New England, that means the weather pattern has stalled, so each day looks similar to the previous. This morning, the big story was the frost and the near record cold start. Some locations reported lows below freezing, some places into the upper 20s, making us reach for the gloves and also to double check the calendars to make sure it is indeed the month of May.

For our Tuesday afternoon, temperatures rebound back into the 50s south, near-50 north as clouds build along with a few rain showers. With breaks in the showers, we could see a few more rainbows, similar to what we’ve seen over the course of the past few days.

For your Tuesday night, temperatures will be cool, but not as cold as what we woke up with this morning. Overnight lows dip into the 40s as skies partially clear. Wednesday brings a slight warm-up along with a slight chance for a passing shower, but out of the next few days, Wednesday remains similar to Monday in the sense that it will start off with sun and we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds through the day. Winds will shift with a seabreeze that will keep temperatures slightly cooler along the coast. Highs reach into the lower 60s south, 50s north and along the coastlines.

We'll see a drier and cooler pattern for Thursday and Friday, but the clouds stick around with highs into the mid to upper 50s. This weekend, we see a chance for scattered rain showers for Saturday night into Sunday- Mother’s Day. High temperatures this weekend stretch into the mid to upper 50s with more sunshine on Saturday than Sunday. Shower chances linger into Monday, but a slight warm-up to May normal high standards return by the next work week.
