Women Passing Counterfeit Notes Arrested

20 suspected counterfeit notes were recovered from the duo as well as goods purchased using the fake notes.

Auburn police responded to a call from Auburn Mall on Tuesday evening reporting two black women passing counterfeit notes. The two Forever 21 employees who called the police said the bills felt “off”.

Officers spotted the women fitting the given description exiting the Victoria’s Secret store together. One of the women fled towards another store in the mall when approached by the police.She was apprehended and identified as Ivette Guerrero, 25, of the Bronx, NY.

Another officer located the second suspect, identified as Lauren Cruz, 26, also from the Bronx, NY., in the parking garage next to a car registered to Guerrero.

Both women will be arraigned in the Worcester District Court on charges of possessing counterfeit notes and uttering a forged document.
