Marco Rubio in NH to Kick Off Campaign Week

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is holding an event in New Hampshire Tuesday evening following Monday night's third place finish in the Iowa caucus.

Fresh off a very strong showing in the Iowa caucus, Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio started off his campaign week leading up to the NH primary at Exeter Town Hall.

The senator from Florida, is here with his wife and four children.

"I'm not going to make them stand here the whole time, but I wanted you to meet my family because they're going to be here for eight days," said Rubio as he greeted hundreds in the crowd.

Rubio criticized President Barack Obama, and focused his speech on things he'd do as president, including fighting ISIS, protecting family values and our borders:

"Criminal aliens are going to be deported right away and sanctuary cities, when I'm president, will lose all of their federal money."

"When I am president we are rebuilding the US military because the world is a safer and a better plane when America is the strongest military in the world."

"When I'm president and you're a veteran you will be able to take your VA benefits and go to any hospital or doctor you choose to go to."

NH Resident Linda Bodensteiner said she liked Rubio's energy and says his message brings her hope.

"It's just 8 years of hoping and watching the country just go down the tubes for me; that's how I see it, and the economy the military, everything," said Michelle Landry, a Massachusetts Resident.

In the Iowa caucus, Rubio was just one point behind republican Donald Trump, and performed better than most polls had shown.

Those who lined up early, say they are seeing as many candidates as they can to firm up their decisions before Tuesday's primary.

NH Resident Pat Albert said:

"I'm juggling a few. He's one, so I find when you go and see them you change your mind."

"It's kind of exciting to see these guys up close, and look them in the eye, and I feel like I can make a better decision that way," said Frank Capalare.
