Boston Celtics' Isaiah Thomas Named to NBA Eastern Conference All-Star Team

Once again, the Boston Celtics have an All-Star on their roster!

Point guard Isaiah Thomas was named Thursday to the Eastern Conference All-Star team as a reserve.

It's the first All-Star selection for the 26-year-old who, at 5'9, has been impressive since coming to Boston. So far this year, Thomas has posted career highs per-game averages in points (21.6), assists (6.6) and rebounds (3.0).

Thomas will be Boston's sole representative in the game.

The Celtics acquired Thomas at the 2014-15 trade deadline in a shrewd deal by general manager Danny Ainge. The Celtics sent Marcus Thornton's expiring contract and the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2016 first round pick to the Phoenix Suns.

As the Cavs sit atop the conference standings, the pick is sure to come near the end of the first round - a stunningly low price for a young, affordable All-Star.
