While some residents have waited all winter to see snow, they don't want snow if it means no spring (Published Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014)

(NECN: Julie Loncich, Newton, Mass.) – A dusting has started to stick to the grounds as of 4:30 p.m.

Drivers say so far so good on route 128 in Massachusetts, but admit they plan on changing their routes home to avoid the Mass Pike.

For some, snow is a welcome sight. Most of us in New England haven’t had to pull out our snow gear, shovels or defensive driving.

Casey Carle of East Haddam, Conn. said it’s nice to see for a change of pace.

Alex Sanchez of Natick, Mass. said she’s happy it’s finally snowing, but she’s not happy with the timing. Sanchez wants to make sure we have a spring.

The snow is expected to get work as the evening rush hour progresses.
