Thunder roared and lightning caused damage in several Massachusetts communities overnight Monday as downed trees blocked streets, power outages were reported and even a tornado warning was issued.
The most common occurrence that happened with the harsh winds and downpours was trees toppling over. Harwich was especially affected by the storm as residents awoke Tuesday to find fallen trees in their neighborhoods.
The storm continued Tuesday with a tornado warning in Barnstable and Dukes counties. Not only that, but streets in New Bedford were flooding as a result of the torrential downpours.
