Boston Mayor-elect Marty Walsh on Public Safety, Transportation

(NECN) - Tom Menino has served as Boston's mayor since 1994. He is stepping down, and Mayor-elect Marty Walsh is stepping up.

Latoyia Edwards sat down with the man who will lead Boston beginning January 6.

Mayor-elect Walsh discussed his views on public safety and transportation.

"We're going to be appointing a police commissioner here in the city of Boston ... The police did a great job, I believe, on Marathon Monday," said Walsh. "Don't want that incident to ever happen again, so we're going to make sure that the police have everything they need to carry out their job."
