A man is dead and his wife is hospitalized following a double shooting just after midnight Friday in what authorities believe was an attempted murder-suicide in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Boston police responded to a Lawrence Avenue home around 12:11 a.m. where they found two people had been shot. Investigators allege the husband shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.
The couple was taken to a local hospital where Andrew Doman died from his injuries. Hyacinth Doman survived the shooting and is in stable condition.
The early morning shooting rocked the couple's Dorchester neighborhood.
“I was in the house and I heard the shots,” said a neighbor.
The couple moved into the home about 15 years ago as part of a state-run loan program to support home ownership.

Neighbors say Andrew Doman was a cab driver and was always seen cleaning his cab and tending to his property.
“You always see him out front,” said Ronny Reinford. “Really friendly guy, it don’t make any sense.”
Neighbors say they have no idea how such a tragic incident could unfold at the home.
“You couldn’t meet a nicer guy,” said a neighbor. “Gentle, kind, always trying to help clean the street…Andrew was your good morning.”
Investigators have not revealed any motive for the crime. An investigation is ongoing.
