(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - Many travelers looking to avoid the traffic and congestion at larger airports this season are choosing to fly out of Worcester Regional Airport instead.
The federal government accountability office has developed a long term plan to develop smaller airports in the region. The goal is to alleviate congestion at Logan International airport in Boston.
Officials at Worcester Regional Airport say this season the airport is proving to be one of the popular alternatives to Boston, with business up 32 percent.
