Mass. Family Slams New ‘Conviction' Movie

(NECN) - A Massachusetts family is slamming the new movie ''Conviction'' that is set to premier today.

The film tells the story of Kenneth Waters, who was wrongly convicted of murdering Katharina Brow in the 1980's in Ayer, Massachusetts.

However, attorney Gloria Allred says Brow's children are upset that the film's star Hillary Swank and the producers never contacted them.

"The children of murder victim Katherina Brow want to express their disappointment and their anger about what they believe is a failure by the producers of the new movie 'Conviction' to show respect and compassion for their family when it was the brutal murder of their mother that triggered events that are the basis for this film," said Allred.

Brow's children were also upset that Swank described the film as a ''feel good story.''
