Move Over World Cup Stars, These Elephants Know How to Play Soccer!

(NECN: Knysna Forest, South Africa) - The real giant of soccer isn't Kaka, Ronaldo, or Messi. It is Namibia, a four-ton orphaned elephant.

These playing pachyderms are from the Knysna Elephant Park in South Africa. They're getting into spirit of the World Cup.

But, it's not just fun and games. Each orphaned elephants forms a relationship with a personal handler that can take years to develop. 

Here in the park the they are safe and using soccer to build stronger bonds between elephant and human.
