Yeaton Street was still closed Wednesday morning in New Britain, Connecticut, as police continued investigating a suspicious death at near the Farmington Avenue intersection.
Police said they were dispatched to the scene at 7:48 p.m. after receiving reports of a suspicious car parked on the street.They discovered a person dead inside the car.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots in the area before police arrived. Authorities said there is no danger to the public.
The person's identity has not been released at this time and police have not released information on the cause of death. The medical examiner responded to the scene, according to police.
The intersection has been closed since Tuesday night.
