A child was critically injured in a boating accident on Thompson Lake in Otisfield, Maine, on Thursday afternoon.
Six others were also injured in the 2-boat accident, which occurred around 2 p.m. There were 10 people involved between the two boats.
The Maine Warden Service said it is not calling the accident a hit-and-run, but one of the boats did continue on after the crash.
Another boater, a good Samaritan, came by and helped people who were injured. Witnesses at the dock said it looked like the injuries were quite serious.
"One of the kids, you could tell his back was really hurt," Jessica Mason said. "And the other one, his face was messed up on the side. And the other kid looked like his lip was busted open."
Wardens say the incident is still under investigation and charges are possible.
