Firefighters are on the scene of a three-alarm fire in Lewiston, Maine, that started Tuesday night.
The fire started around 7:00 p.m. at 101 Birch St, a 17-unit apartment building. As the firefighters worked to battle the flames, a crowd gathered around the perimeter to watch. Police said everyone made it out of the building safely.
"It's sad. Most of the fires around here are arson these days. And it's scary you know. It makes you sleep light at night every night. You don't know what's going to happen," said Glenn Bunnell, Lewiston resident
The Lewiston Fire chief said he expects crews to be at the building through early Wednesday. The Fire
Marshal's office will continue their investigation tomorrow.
The Red Cross has responded to help the 11 families displaced.
