A man gave himself up to police Sunday after shooting at police and taking two hostages in Bangor, Maine, according to WCSH.

Around 8 a.m. Sunday police responded to 831 Union St. for a report of a family fight. When officers arrived, Nicholas Condon allegedly started shooting at them. Officers took cover and returned the gunfire. Nobody was injured during the gunfire exchange, said police.

Police then learned Condon was allegedly holding a man and a woman hostage. Police evacuated the neighbors and crisis negotiators responded to the scene.

A little while after the crisis negotiators started working, Condon released the hostages, police said. But he reportedly remained in the home and negotiations continued. Police fired tear gas into the residence several times. Condon finally gave himself up around 3:15 p.m., said police

Condon, 28, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a firearm, burglary and terrorizing.
