A Mansfield man who authorities say stole high-end vacuum cleaners to pay for his opioid addiction is heading to jail.
The Sun Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1TQfgOA ) that 49-year-old William Skiffington was sentenced Tuesday to at least nine months in jail followed by two years of probation.
He was sentenced last week to six months in jail for stealing vacuum cleaners from a Target store in Plainville.
Police say Skiffington stole almost $3,000 worth of high-end Dyson vacuum cleaners from various stores, including a Target store in North Attleboro and a Kohl's department store in Mansfield. He was arrested April 27.
His lawyer says Skiffington became addicted to opioids that were prescribed to him after surgeries.

He was sentenced last week to serve six months of a 1 1/2-year jail term for stealing vacuum cleaners from a Target store in Plainville.
