Bail Set at $150K for Man Arrested After Armed Robbery, Police Chase

A man arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Norwood, Massachusetts, and subsequent police chase that ended with a crash in Walpole, made a court appearance on Friday.

Michael Matos, a snowplow driver with A to Z Landscaping, never returned to his plow following Monday's storm.

He faces multiple charges stemming from an incident that police say started when Matos robbed the Norwood store, attacking its owner with a Taser.

Prosecutors say he and an accomplice took off driving a plow truck. The chase ended when the truck crashed into a tree and a police cruiser on Thursday.

He told police he was behind on his rent and needed money.

A police officer suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Bail has been set at $150,000. Matos will be back in court in February for a probable cause hearing.
