Bus Catches Fire in Boston's Financial District

A bus caught fire in Boston's Financial District Wednesday afternoon after a tire blew, MBTA confirms.

The fire was reported in the right rear wheel well of a bus, which was extinguished by firefighters just before 5 p.m. The bus was outside of 100 Federal St. when the fire started.

The bus was about to begin its route when the incident occurred

MBTA officials initially said that no passengers were on board, but later said about five people had gotten on the bus before the incident. They safely walked off the bus, according to officials

No injuries were reported.
