Funeral Held for Teacher Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver

It was a large and somber turnout at Central Middle School in Quincy, Massachusetts, as hundreds of family and friends came together to celebrate the life of a young teacher who was killed by alleged drunk driver.

Twenty-three-year-old Emily Zarnoch was in York, Maine, while on vacation last week when 21-year-old Carolyn Lee allegedly hit and killed her with her SUV.

Lee is now chared with manslaughter, drunken driving and leaving the scene of a crash.

Back in Quincy, Zarnoch's death has been difficult for people who knew her, given her age and passion for life.

Monday's service at Central is where Zarnoch was set to begin working int he fall as a full time English teacher. She was a part-time substitute at the school last year.

Zarnoch graduated from North Quincy High School in 2009 and later Framingham State University. Loved ones say she always wanted to teach in her hometown.

A scholarship fund has been established in her name. Donations can be made to the Colonial Federal Savings Bank on Beach Street in Quincy.
