Police say a man has been charged in a crash that injured three people, including a Douglas, Massachusetts, police officer.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an officer was traveling east on Route 16 Main Street around 10:10 p.m. Saturday night. According to police, the crash occurred when another vehicle traveling west attempted to turn left onto southeast Main Street.

The crash resulted in heavy damage to both vehicles. The officer and the two occupants of the other vehicle were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Police have cited Zachary Davis, 37, in the crash. He was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic, a second offense of operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
