The MBTA says severe delays on the Red Line Thursday morning should be coming to an end.
MBTA officials said the issue was due to a switch problem at Alewife. Residual delays are still expected.
The delays are in both directions.
Riders are encouraged to use the commuter rail at Braintree, Quincy Center and JFK/UMass is possible.
Many riders took to social media to share their frustrations about this morning's delays.
