Police in Springfield, Massachusetts, confirm that a pedestrian who was struck by two vehicles has died as a result of her injuries.
Around 8:50 p.m. Saturday night, a 23-year-old female victim was crossing State Street when a car traveling westbound struck her. Investigators say the impact sent the victim into the eastbound lane where a second vehicle ran her over.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, police say.
Both of the motorists stopped at the scene. Police say neither of them have been charged.
The accident remains under investigation. Investigators say wet roads and low visibility may have played a role.
