Man Found Guilty of Trafficking Teen at Gentlemen's Club

Authorities say Troy Footman prostituted the then-14-year-old teen and her 15-year-old best friend

A Boston man has been found guilty of trafficking a teenager and acting as her pimp while she prostituted herself at a gentlemen's club in Rhode Island.

The Providence Journal reports a jury in Providence convicted 53-year-old Troy Footman Monday of two counts of pandering for acting as her pimp and two sex trafficking counts.

Authorities say Footman prostituted the then-14-year-old teen and her 15-year-old best friend, both of whom were listed as missing from Massachusetts, and brought them to work as exotic dancers at Cheater's Gentlemen's Club in Providence in 2013.

Footman's lawyer says his client was not solely at fault, and that the teenager had chosen to move in with him and work at Cheater's.

Footman is facing up to 45 years in prison.
