New Vt. Deer Hunting Regulations Take Effect Next Year

Deer hunters in Vermont are facing some new regulations that take effect next year.

Among the changes are extending the archery deer hunting season by five days. The season will start the first Saturday in October, run for 28 days and then continue for nine days starting the first Saturday after the end of the November rifle deer season.

Also, the archery season limit on deer will be reduced from three to two, and only one of which may be legal buck. Hunters cannot exceed the annual limit of three deer for all seasons.

Hunters 50 and older will be allowed to use a crossbow without first obtaining a disability permit.

Also, no one can possess any product containing urine, blood, or other bodily fluids from a deer, elk or moose while hunting.
