A woman was killed in a pedestrian crash Friday evening in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
Police say a woman was killed after a crash around 7:15 p.m. on Second Street.
According to authorities, 36-year-old Jean Baptiste, of Chelsea, was teaching a 44-year-old male, who was driving a Subaru Outback and another friend, a 39-year-old male how to drive.
Police say she had gotten out of the car and stood on the sidewalk. While trying to attempt a three point turn, the car accelerated backward, jumped the curb, and hit a metal pole holding a “no parking” sign that subsequently hit the woman in the head.

Officers tried to save the woman as soon as they got there, but unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
“It’s kind of really bizarre. I don’t even know how that would happen.” said Reginald Watkins, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident.
Massachusetts State Police and Chelsea Police are still investigating the incident. No charges have been filed as of this time.
