A 40-year-old man was killed in East Hartford Sunday night and police have identified him as Sean Arcari. He was a resident of East Hartford. Police are urging the public to come forward with information as the investigation continues.
Police said they responded to Burnside Avenue just before 8 p.m. to investigate a report of a shooting and found the victim.
Police said the preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was involved in an altercation that escalated to gunfire.
They said the exact circumstances leading up to the altercation are still under active investigation and it appears to be an isolated incident, but they believe the shooter is armed and dangerous.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time," Scott Sansom, chief of the East Hartford Police Department, said. "Our officers are working tirelessly to apprehend the suspect.”
