Authorities have identified the man who drowned in Killingly Pond on Thursday.
Jerry Wayne Johnson, 28, of Melbourne, Florida was pulled from the lake about an hour after he disappeared under the water, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Police received a call from a witness around 12:45 p.m. reporting that the victim had gone into the water, but had not been seen since.

Divers found Johnson about an hour later. He had been swimming with a friend, police said. The second person was not injured.
Johnson was rushed to Day-Kimball hospital where he was pronounced dead.
