Upcoming Washington Storms Bring Threat of Fires

A new weather system moving into the Washington state area could cause thunderstorms and lightning that could ignite more blazes in coming days, said Weather.com meteorologist Nick Wiltgen. The blaze which investigators believe was sparked on July 14 in north-central Washington was just 2 percent contained Monday, officials said. Described as the largest wildfire in the state's history, the fire took the life of a 67-year-old man on Sunday, who died of a heart attack while trying to save his home from the flames.
