Two people were cited after they left their dogs inside a hot car Sunday in Wrentham, Massachusetts, according to police.
The dogs were found by shoppers at the Wrentham Mall.
Police were called and they removed the dogs and gave them water.
They say the owners showed up and seemed surprised to learn how fast a vehicle heats up in the sun.
They were both issued citations.
