1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured in Hyannis Stabbing

One victim is dead, the other is in serious condition



    Police are looking for suspects in the fatal stabbing in Hyannis, Mass. (Published Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016)

    One person is dead and another injured after a stabbing on Cape Cod early Saturday morning, authorities confirm.

    Barnstable police say officers responded to a reported altercation around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Beth Lane in Hyannis, where they found a man dead and another person suffering from critical injuries.

    The victim who died has been identified as 26-year-old Thomas Russell of Hyannis; meanwhile, the other victim has not been identified and is currently being treated at Cape Cod Hospital.

    Cape & Islands district attorney's office says an individual has been placed under arrest for a probation violation at this time; however, earlier Barnstable police said they were still looking for a suspect.

    The stabbing remains under investigation.
