"It just felt like someone threw a rock at my face," she said.

The girl was walking home with friends when she saw a gold car drive by -- police say it may have been a Toyota -- then felt an immediate pain in her face.

"I just feel normal, with a BB in my face," she said.

The projectile is still lodged in her cheek.

The firl's mother says it hurts to see her daughter like this, but that it could have been worse.

"Luckily, it was a BB Gun," she said. "If it wasn't, she wouldn't be here. It is literally lodged in her face."
