The entertainment network EPIX announced their plan to air an inside look into the life of one of Red Sox Nation's most beloved stars.
In the Epix Orignal Documentary, "David Ortiz In the Moment," a close-up account of the nine-time MLB All-Star, World Series champion and Red Sox legend will be shown.
The EPIX "In the Moment" series provides viewers an inside look at what it takes to become and remain a world champion athlete.
“David Ortiz is a larger-than-life baseball star,” said Mark Greenberg, EPIX CEO and President.
The documentary, produced by Relativity Sports in conjunction with Major League Baseball Productions, chronicles Ortiz’s path from the Dominican Republic to stardom. It will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look into “Big Papi’s” world.
Ortiz's role as an iconic figure in ending the Red Sox World Series drought in 2004 has earned him legendary status as one of Boston’s greatest sports heroes. He also played an integral role in capturing titles in 2007 and 2013.
The world television premier is slated for July 17, 2014 at 8 p.m.
