Chilly sunshine dominates our weather this weekend, with highs running below average for a change.

Saturday will start off quite cold, with morning temperatures in the single digits and teens for most of New England. In far Northern Vermont, Northern New Hampshire, and Northern Maine temperatures will actually dip below zero.

Factor in a still gusty northwest wind and it will feel as cold as 10 to 30 below zero at times, especially north.

By afternoon it will be sunny, but that will only get our temperatures into the teens and 20s.

Sunday is less windy, but still bright for most, as a storm slides to our south. That system may send a few flurries to the South Coast or the Islands, but otherwise, we won’t hear much from it.

Highs will again be in the 20s, including in Foxborough for the Patriots game.

Much of next week is tranquil too, with temperatures slowly moderating mid-week. A few snow showers will move through the mountains of Northern New England Tuesday into Wednesday, allowing another shot of cold by week’s end.

The next more meaningful storm to watch isn’t until next weekend, and there are still plenty of details to be worked out in terms of track and precipitation type.
