University of New Hampshire researchers will present their latest findings on forest management and innovations for agriculture at the New Hampshire Farm and Forest Expo next month.

Among the topics covered will be how scientists use lasers to track forest inventories; forested buffers and vernal pools; invasive "alien" shrubs in forests; and opportunities and challenges of managing New Hampshire forests in response to climate variability.

In the farm session, researchers will discuss breeding squash for health benefits and good eating; the bees' needs: diversity and sustainability of native pollinators; breeding strawberries for enhanced ornamental value; and other topics

The research presentation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 in the Webster Room. The expo itself runs all day Friday and Saturday.
