    One Hospitalized After 2-Alarm Fire Rips Through Triple-Decker in Dorchester

    One person was hospitalized following a two-alarm fire Monday morning at a multi-family home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

    A person has been confirmed dead after a fire Monday morning at a multi-family home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

    Police said around 6:45 p.m. that a person had died, but they did not have any further information. Earlier Monday, fire officials said three people were hospitalized and two more were treated at the scene for injuries. A dog was also killed, fire officials said.

    Firefighters responded to the blaze at 83 Holmes Ave. shortly before 6:30 a.m. One man on the third floor of the three-story building had to be rescued.

    NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger captured aerial footage of the scene, where flames and smoke could be seen coming from two windows on the third floor of the building.

    Crews responded to a two-alarm fire Monday morning at a home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

    Several firefighters on the roof of the structure doused the fire after they gained access to the area with a ladder. The blaze left a gaping hole in the roof.

    Firefighters said the heavy fire was knocked down by 7 a.m.

    Details on what led up to the blaze were not immediately clear.
