20-Year-Old Dies After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Pole

A young man died last night in a crash off Route 9 in Unity, Maine, according to state police.

Twenty-year-old Harold Fickett III of Clifton died when the pickup truck he was in went off the road and crashed into a utility pole after 9 p.m.

The driver of the 2002 Dodge Dakota truck and another passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the Belfast hospital.

Officers also said that they are trying to locate a chocolate labrador retriever named Josie, who ran from the scene. Residents in the area who have spotted the dog or have additional information regarding the dog's whereabouts, are asked to contact the Public Safety Dispatch center in Augusta, Maine, at 207-624-7076.

Route 9 was closed while police were investigating the crash scene.
