Police say a man wanted in the stabbing death of the brother of a Rhode Island Supreme Court justice was caught at a motel in Massachusetts.
Pawtucket police say 21-year-old Matthew Marcotte was arrested at a motel in Seekonk, Massachusetts, late Thursday. He's expected to be charged with murder when he is returned to Rhode Island.
Fifty-three-year-old William McKenna was fatally stabbed Tuesday outside a convenience store in Pawtucket. He was the younger brother of Supreme Court Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg.
A motive for the stabbing hasn't been disclosed. McKenna was an ex-convict like Marcotte.
Authorities say Marcotte was identified through surveillance video.
Seekonk police charged Marcotte with being a fugitive from justice and illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition. He's expected to be arraigned in Rhode Island next week.
