Obama Declares Disaster for Vermont After Flooding

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Vermont after severe flooding in June.

The aid will help supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe weather that slammed the state on June 9.

Hundreds of people were without power and some were unable to reach their homes because their driveways washed away.
