PD: Homemade Cannon Device Injures 2

Two men were injured Saturday after a homemade cannon-like device went off at a home in New Hampshire.

Albert Dionne, 56, of Nottingham, was cleaning the device at a house at 23 Jacob's Well Road in Epping when it discharged. He and Christopher Krafton, 52, of Amesbury, Massachusetts, each sustained a foot injury as a result of the incident, police said.

The men's friends drove them to the fire station in a pick up truck.

Officers then went to the house to investigate. They say they found a device made from the barrel of a muzzle loader rifle. The device had been loaded but failed to discharge, so Dionne attempted to clean it when it suddenly discharged.
