Suspect Arrested in Sexual Assault in Rockport, Mass.

The victim told officers she was attacked from behind

A man accused of assaulting a woman Wednesday night in Rockport, Massachusetts, was arrested Friday night.

Police had been looking for the public's help finding the suspect, who they said could be seen on surveillance footage in the area.

The victim told officers she was attacked from behind on Pooles Avenue around 9 p.m. Wednesday. She was knocked down and the suspect allegedly tried to remove her clothes, but was unsuccessful. She said he took off on a bike.

Around 2:45 p.m. Friday, police located 22-year-old Gloucester resident Angel Saul Perez Castro, who they say matched the description of the man seen in surveillance images. After speaking with police, he was arrested and charged with assault with intent to commit rape and assault and battery on a disabled person.

The suspect is due to be arraigned Monday in Gloucester District Court. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
