New Hampshire State Police say an assistant to a town selectboard has been accused of taking at least $15,000 in town funds to pay her utility bills and several rental properties.
Police said 62-year-old Cynthia Satas of Troy was arrested Monday on a charge of theft. Police executed search warrants of her office at the Troy Town Hall and her home.
It wasn't immediately known if Satas, who is also the town welfare administrator, has a lawyer.
