Police are investigating after a 13-year-old Clinton, Connecticut resident found a needle in a Snickers bar obtained while trick-or-treating on Halloween, police said.

A Clinton resident called police at about 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 2 to report that their teenage child opened a Fun Size Snickers bar and found a needle inside, police said.

The parent called police right after the child found the needle and said the child got the candy trick-or-treating in the Willow Lane and Nod Lane/Nod Hill neighborhoods in Clinton, police said the caller told them.

The child wasn't injured and police don't know where the child specifically got the Snickers bar.

No other incidents of candy tampering were reported to Clinton police.

Police have launched a criminal investigation and ask anyone with information to call860-669-0451.
