Boston's Berklee College of Music Opens 100M Building

(NECN) – Berklee College of Music in Boston opened its newest building on Wednesday.

The 16-story building will provide housing for the entire incoming freshmen class.

It features a cafeteria which shifts into a performance center at night, in addition to one of the largest music production studios of its kind.

“We wanted the world’s best recording studio, so in the basement is already equipment that will make the Hollywood studios drool, with some of the best state of the art equipment anywhere in the world, and great sonic spaces completely isolated,” said Roger Brown, the president of the institution.

The tower cost $100M and is the first building ever built from the ground up at Berklee.
